This circuit can be used in a wide variety of applications where a fluid level sensor is required. It can indicate the level of fluid in a container or simply the presence of fluid depending on the way the circuit is used.
The circuit incorporates a relay that can be used to automatically control a pump that will top-up the liquid in the container if it drops below a certain level (or alternatively, drain it if it goes above a certain level). If you need to control liquid between minimum and maximum levels see our other Fluid Level Sensors.
The circuit can also be used as a rain detector alarm (very useful in the UK!) when used with a suitable sensor that you can easily make (see application notes below)
