Stabilised and regulated power supply board capable of delivery 500 mA at 18Vdc. Ideal for many projects including kits 1023, 1024, 1038 and 1052. Circuit uses an L7818 voltage regulator IC together with bridge rectifier section and smoothing capacitors to provide a stabilised and regulated output. Power-On LED indicator.
As supplied (without a heatsink for the regulator IC) it is quite safe to draw 500mA continuously. This is a very conservative current rating as the circuit is capable of delivering 1 to 1.5A if the regulator IC is fitted with a suitable heatsink and properly cooled. You would also need to uprate the input transformer accordingly.
Board requires an 18Vac/0.5A transformer for standard operation (not included).
FeaturesProduct selection advice: Please ensure the equipment under power draws less current than the power supplies maximum rated current detailed below (do not rely on equipment rating specifications as they are often incorrect). We recommend that the power supply is rated at least 20% above the equipment to be powered so it can handle current surges, etc.
