It is often necessary to use a single power amplifier for more than one musical instrument and a mixing console may not be always available.
For such difficult cases this little mixer can offer a good solution. It may not have separate settings for every instrument or tone controls but it is small, efficient and has very good sound quality.
The circuit uses a single 741 op-amp integrated circuit wired as an amplifier having an amplification factor of slightly above than 1. The input can take signals from 100mV up to 1V without clipping. The low power consumption makes it possible to power the mixer off a 9V PP3 battery for very long periods of time. The input signals are simply fed to the op-amp through coupling capacitors and series resistors.
Kit version includes solder for assembly.
