This educational kit brings the ever popular electronic dice project kit right up to date. A PIC16C54 is used to show how microcontrollers can replace traditional logic and display driver circuits. After pressing the 'start' button, a number between 1 and 6 is displayed on the 7-segment digital LED display.
Good educational project. It provides a nice example of how microcontrollers are used in modern electronic designs to simplify assembly and reduce costs.
The PIC is supplied pre-programmed and the complete, fully commented, software source code used (plus the public domain assembler program from Microchip) is available for you to study and learn from, making this kit an excellent introduction to using and programming microcontrollers.
