This dual LED flasher has adjustable flash rate and a wide operating voltage. It was originally designed for teaching the concepts of astable multivibrator circuits but can be used for shop displays, signs, hazard warning lights, models, robots and other applications where a low cost LED flasher is required.
A 555 timer IC is wired as a square wave oscillator with a double ended output connected to two super bright LEDs which flash on and off in turn. The LEDs can be mounted vertically or horizontally to the board.
Ideal project for schools and colleges. Documentation provides links to a website showing an animated explanation of how the circuit works. Introduces a variety of components and basic electronic principles.
Kit version is supplied with super bright RED LEDs. Assembled version now available in super bright RED, super bright GREEN, super bright BLUE and super bright (14000mcd) WHITE LED versions.
