Simple upgrade kit for our 8-Channel Serial Port Isolated IO Relay Controller that enables you to link two 3108 (Hardware Version 3) units together to provide a total of 16 Relay Outputs and 6 external Inputs running from a single serial port.
The Kit consists of two pre-programmed upgrade firmware ICs and two sets of new front and rear box facia panel showing the new I/O numbers.
The Master unit is simply whichever unit the serial cable is connected to. IC7 in both relay boards have to be jumpered (a very simple job) to provide the connection between the kits. You will need 2 x 3108v3 Relay Controller Modules to perform the upgrade plus a power supply for each controller.
New pre-installed upgrade product option now available - Order Code AS3108X2U - comprises 2 x PRE-ASSEMBLED Version 3 Serial Relay Controller Modules with the Dual Upgrade Kit pre-installed. The standard version firmware controllers and enclosure facia panels are not supplied. You will need one power supply for each controller.
3108v4 Note: The firmware chips supplied will work fine in the new v4 boards but the front and rear facia panels cannot be used as the cut-out positions are different on v4 hardware. You could use with the standard 3108v4 panels and label up the boxes as Master and Slave, along with the new I/O number allocations and Link positions.
