DC To Pulse Width Modulator self-assembly electronic construction kit is ideal for the accurate control of DC motors, lighting levels, small heaters as well as other applications.
The circuit converts a DC voltage into a series of pulses, such that the pulse duration is directly proportional to the value of the DC voltage. The great advantage of such a circuit is that almost no power is lost in the control circuit.
Output is adjusted using the DC Control Voltage Input. This accepts an analogue voltage of 2.5-35Vdc from an external source (like K8000 - PC Interface Board) or using a 1K pot (not included) connected to the on-board internal reference voltage VREF.
The board is protected against overload and short circuit.
PRODUCT SELECTION NOTES: The motor controller should have an output load capacity at least 25% above the motors peak power requirement. Please do NOT rely on motor rating plates for power consumption figures as they often quote average not peak power. You should verify the actual peak power at start-up and under full load before selecting an appropriate size motor controller.
