ZIF40W - 40 Pin Wide ZIF Socket

Good quality 40-pin wide slot universal ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) socket that can be used with the PIC and ATMEL programmer kits 3096, 3117, 3122, 3123 & 3144 boards.

Using the ZIF socket allows quick and easy insertion of devices like PIC chips for programming without any possibility of leg damage. Simply flick the integral lever to clamp the pins for programming and lift again to release the device.

The socket has wide entry holes to accommodate devices with 0.3", 0.4" and 0.6" pitch from 8 to 40 pins thus allowing the vast majority of devices to be inserted.
