1172 - Up-Down Counter (with Dual Relay Output)

General purpose up / down event two-way counter with a programmable pre-set function and two mains rated relay outputs. Designed for use in a wide range of process control applications.

The UP/DOWN button sets the units status to either count up or count down. The count status is indicated on the front panel by two different coloured LEDs. Counting is via the COUNT button or an external contact closure located up to 10m away. MEM is used to store the Preset count value between 1 and 9999. PRESET resets the counter to zero but retains the Preset value for repeat counting. RESET clears the memory and resets the counter to zero.

In the DOWN state the relay is activated when the counter decreases from 1 to zero. In the UP state the relay is activated when the programmable upper limit (Preset) is reached.

The current display reading and Preset limit can be saved in memory (retained up by a 3V backup battery - not supplied).

The four-digit red LED display, control buttons (START/COUNT, RESET, UP/DOWN, MEM and PRESET) and the Up/Down status LEDs are all mounted on a separate board from the main control board. The relay outputs are each rated to switch up to 230Vac/2A. Built around a microcontroller for maximum accuracy.

Kit version includes solder for assembly.
