General Information

These low cost CMOS video camera modules are ideal for many applications like security systems, video phones, industrial machine monitoring and toys. They use high quality image sensors made by OmniVision, one of the world leaders in this field of electronics. For a detailed discussion on the benefits of CMOS technology over CCD Click Here.

These cameras are not designed as consumer items but are ideal for equipment manufacturers, experimenters and hobbyists. The modules are provided without housings.

You will need to make a few electrical connections and have a regulated input voltage. The C-CAM modules are intended to be PCB-mounted.

CCIR, EIA & NTSC Explained

For black & white modules, 50Hz CCIR is for the UK and the rest of the world; 60Hz EIA is for the north American market.

For colour modules, PAL is for the UK and most of the rest of the world; NTSC is for the USA.

In the lens specifications, f is focal length, F is aperture, FOV is the Field Of View.

Camera Power Supply Requirements

You MUST use a REGULATED power supply with these cameras (Order Code PSU375 is suitable). Do NOT use a common unregulated power supply. Most modules require 5Vdc ±0.5V and a few models require 9Vdc (Order Code PSU375). Check the documentation before powering up.

All cameras are tested before shipment. We do not give refunds on cameras damaged by excess voltage.
