Heavy duty power supply with variable voltage and current limiting that delivers a pure, clean, stable DC output from 8 - 20Vdc with 150 Watts maximum power.

Special RF protection filters make it particularly suitable for powering FM transmitters, CB radios and linear amplifiers.

Tried and tested design that uses a voltage control stage to drive a circuit consisting of four power transistors that keep the voltage constant and can handle quite heavy currents. Finally there is an electronic current limiter which constantly monitors the current drawn from the out put of the circuit and if that exceeds a certain level it switches the supply off to prevent any possible damage to the output transistors or to the circuit connected to the supply

  • Stabilised output voltage even at maximum current
  • Shorted output current limited and adjustable from 3 - 5 Amps
  • Fully protected against overloading and short circuits
  • RF filters incorporated to protect the circuit from interference that could affect stability
  • Uses 3 off 2N3055 power transistors.

The kit comes complete with complete with 2 pre-drilled heatsinks for the power transistors. You need to add a 24Vac/8A mains transformer.

Kit includes solder for assembly.

Product selection advice: Please ensure the equipment under power draws less current than the power supplies maximum rated current detailed below (do not rely on equipment rating specifications as they are often incorrect). We recommend that the power supply is rated at least 20% above the equipment to be powered so it can handle current surges, etc.
