Drives
any 5, 6 or 8-lead unipolar stepper motor rated up to 6A (5 - 35Vdc) in
either Free-Standing or Computer-Controlled mode for CNC type
applications.
Free-Standing mode provides motor speed control using an onboard trimmer and direction control is via an onboard switch. (internal oscillator)
Computer-Controlled mode provides direction and step control using pulses from the computer parallel printer port and can be used with a wide variety of CNC control software packages. Up to six 3179 driver boards (for controlling 6 motors) can be connected to a single PC parallel port.
Uses IRFZ44 power MOSFETs to drive the motors. These MOSFETs have a low on resistance and can carry 6 Amps each without a heatsink. Uses discrete logic ICs (4013, 4030, 4093).
Separate power connections are provided for the board and motor supplies. Screw terminal blocks and solder pins for connections.
Full operational details provided (see User Manual link below).
