3122 - ATMEL AVR Parallel Mode Programmer

Simple-to-use, low cost yet powerful parallel mode programmer for the ATMEL AVR (AT90S) family of microcontrollers.

Apart from programming the Flash, EPROM and Lock Bits, this programmer enables you to program the 'Fuse' bits. You could for example program one of the fuse bits RCEN to enable the internal oscillator. Also, there is a fuse bit to disable serial programming. If this fuse bit is programmed then the chip is not accessible at all using ISP. It would then only be programmable using a parallel-mode programmer like this one.

This programmer has intelligent onboard firmware and connects to the serial port. It can be used with ANY type of computer and requires no special software. All that is needed is a terminal/communications program that all computers have. 2 LED's are used to indicate programmers status.

Devices Supported

AVR devices supported:

• 20-pin DIP: AT90S1200, AT90S2313
• 40-pin DIP: AT90S4414, AT90S8515, AT90S4434, AT90S8535 plus
• AT90S4434 and AT90S8535 using adaptor board (Order Code 3122ADT)
• It will NOT program the 8-pin AVR devices (90S2323, 90S2343).
  

Software

Programmer does NOT require special software other than a terminal emulator program (built into Windows as Terminal or HyperTerminal) and can be used with ANY computer and ANY operating system. Or use our free Terminal program

You can also program directly to this programmer from within our BASCOM-AVR Basic Compiler software. The programmer will work with hex files from any suitable compiler.
