Building
your first radio receiver is a great experience for all those starting to
explore electronics.
This kit uses a Tuned Radio Frequency (TRF) front-end and an MK484 multi-function AM radio IC that contains RF Amplifier, Active Detection and Automatic Gain Control (AGC) for improved sensitivity. The output of the IC is fed into two stages of audio amplification to drive the speaker provided.
Tunes to the standard medium and long wave AM broadcast frequencies (55-1600). All components including speaker and pre-wound coil are supplied.
Excellent project for beginners and schools. Introduces a good selection of components.
